Synopsis:

Mainer Farms is steeped in family history, but it’s also deep in debt from the effects of the ever-changing farming industry. Not about to let his family’s legacy go under, Colt Mancinkus is willing to do anything he can to save the farm.

Darby Culhane is the new farmer in Whynot, North Carolina, and she’s proving to be quite the forbidden temptation for Colt. Darby isn’t looking for anything but a fresh start, and she’s got it all figured out. Get settled in? Check. Apply for the rural county grant? Check. Confrontation with the steaming mad, smoking hot local farmer? Well, that wasn’t on the agenda.

As pretty as she is sweet, Colt can’t help but be drawn to Darby’s…peaches. No really, she’s a peach farmer. Get that mind out of the gutter, and get on down to the farm to see what happens when circumstances force Colt and Darby to team up. They may just find that the peach trees aren’t the only things in bloom.

My Review:

In the town of Whynot, NC all the Mainer-Mancinkus kids seem to be falling in love, one at a time. Up next is Colt the 28 year old farmer who’s dream is to secure a grant in which he will be able to expand the farm into a winery. Darby is a 31 year old soon to be divorcee from Chicago who moves to Whynot with her 7 year old daughter Linnie with her help from her ex-brother-in-law Jake to start up a peach orchard at Farmington Farms. These two are instantly smitten with each other even if they are after the same grant but realizations and sacrifices are made and their relationship blossoms. Colt is very protective of Linnie and her mom and will stop at no means to keep them save even if the ramifications ultimately effect him. But in Whynot when the unthinkable happens love can bring a small town together to rebuild and bring together anything or anyone. This series makes me want to move to a small town in hopes that every small town is like Whynot and that I can find myself immersed into a family like the Mancinkus.

As I got near the end of Pretty As A Peach ALL I wanted was more Larkin and Locke! I have a feeling the best was saved for last for this family. I know that Locke and Larkin are going to own my heart. I just want it to be September NOW!
